Zoro Feigl
Installation shot of solo exhibition “How water grows”, 2026
About
Zoro Feigl (b. 1983) is a Dutch kinetic artist who makes artworks that appear to move by themselves. Liquids ripple, surfaces rotate, and materials shift, as if driven by an internal force rather than an external hand. His installations often appear simple at first glance, yet reveal complex behaviors over time.
Feigl works with materials such as water, oil, metal, and industrial components. He builds precise systems, but once activated, they are no longer fully under his control. Movement becomes irregular, rhythms change, and outcomes remain uncertain. A rotating surface might suddenly destabilize, a liquid might gather, scatter, or take on unexpected forms. The work unfolds with time and never settles into a fixed image.
In his installations, separate elements often come together to form a larger environment. What may begin as an individual object becomes part of a broader choreography of motion, where scale, sound, and repetition shape the experience. Some works feel forceful and mechanical, others slow and almost fragile, as if they could stop at any moment.
Feigl’s practice is not about producing static objects, but about setting conditions. He creates situations in which materials can behave, react, and transform. The work does not point to a single meaning, but invites close looking, in order to draw attention to subtle shifts, patterns, and moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
His work has been shown in institutions including the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam and is included in collections such as Museum Voorlinden and Rijksmuseum Twenthe.
